ANGER management

Sometimes I feel like I need to go to anger management. I have such a bad attitude. I can be very explosive for no reason. However, I imagine if I went to that kind of counseling session it would go something like this........

Counselor: Would anyone like to share how they handled their anger this week?

Grumpy: hmph, I think I did pretty good considering the circumstances. Sneezy, sneezed me out of the house again, so while he was sleeping I duct taped his mouth shut. That'll teach him to share his germs with me.

Counselor: Well....., OK then, Grumpy you need to work on that. Does anyone else have anything to share. Aubrey, how about you? Why don't you share with us? First, tell everyone about yourself.

Me: Uh....um.....OK. Hi my name is Aubrey.

Group: Hi, Aubrey.

Me: I'm here because I'm a pastor's wife with an uncontrollable temper. Today, I blew up at my husband over something really stupid. I yelled at the top of my lungs, said some things I shouldn't have said, and pitched a tantrum like my twelve month old daughter. I'm pretty ashamed. I felt really bad when I read chapter 1 of James. It says that I should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Furthermore, it says that my anger does not benefit God's kingdom.

Counselor: That's terrible. What did you do?

Me: I apologized, but I do this kind of thing all the time. I blow up and then fix it with an apology.

Grumpy: Try duct tape. It always works for me!

Counselor: Grumpy!! Aubrey, sounds like your trying. However, remember the first thing you need to do is give your sin to God. He will help you through your struggles. Second, don't beat up on yourself. We all make mistakes, and God knows this. Your Husband even knows this. That is why he continues to forgive you when you say your sorry. Finally, the third thing you need to know is to never give up. God wants you to keep on trying to control your temper. He knows it's a daily struggle, but He believes in you. He is confident in the fact that you can do all thing through him. Why don't you get alone with God when you get home?

Me: Thanks, I sure will

.............I know that was random, but anger is one of my daily struggles. I'm just glad that God is very quick to forgive. How about you. What are your struggles, and how do you handle them daily?

Bad Mood

Today, has not been a good day for me. I am in such a bad mood. I hate it when one thing goes wrong
and set off a chain of events. aaaaarrrrrgggggg.......I'm telling you, I have fiery smoke coming out of my
ears. It's not one thing. It's everything. I'm even mad at myself for being mad. I wish I didn't feel this
way, but I am just so frustrated. I know its not right for me to hold a grudge. That is why I am
typing away on the blog. I'm sure by now you realize that I am a hot head. Well, your right I am. I am
also stubborn, and get my feelings hurt easily. I wish I could be a better person. I guess the Lord is still
working on me. Do you ever have days when you feel frustrated? What do you do? Do you pray, and
ask the Lord for help? All input is appreciated.

Something to Talk About!!!

I am so sleepy..... and I am trying to think of something to write. Wait..........................................Yeah,I've got nothing........................................................................Hold on!!!

Tonight, I read in the book of Daniel. I came across the well known story of his adventure in the lion's den. Daniel had an amazing amount of faith and obedience. Daniel worshiped and prayed to God even when his life was at stake. This makes me think about my Christian walk. Do I really serve and obey  my savior even when I could put my life in jeopardy?  How many times does my priorities take the place of God's will? I can think of several. I look at all the times I've watched TV instead of daring to crack open the Bible. Instead of sharing the gospel, I've shunned the thought and went on my merry way. Daniel is an inspiration in these situations. God wants us to serve him even when it might hurt, and Daniel portrays this attitude throughout this Bible story. It's amazing, there is always something to talk about when you get into God's word!!!

Sundays = Wipe Out!!!

SOOOooooo......tired! I am literally exhausted. Sundays are so busy for Eddie and I. There is never time to rest. That's right, while most of you get your Sunday nap, Eddie is finishing his Sunday night sermon while I prepare for youth. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being in the ministry. The past three and a half years have been amazing. I have seen God work in our church like you wouldn't believe. Also, He's been molding my life in an image that is pleasing to him. Don't get me wrong. I am far from perfect. I just feel this desire to change from an ordinary Christian to extraordinary servant of God. You see, my life used to be all about Aubrey. Now all I want is my life to be about my savior.
My goals have changed a tremendous amount. When I was a little girl I wanted to become a famous Christian singer. I wanted to travel the world, make lots of money, and sign autographs for my adoring fans.  Now, I can honestly say that I want to serve in Taylorsville beside a wonderful man who loves Jesus. I admit there are times when Satan throws my childhood dreams in my face and tells me I'm a loser. On those days I tend to be depressed and whiny. However, when I snap back into reality, I realize that God has a different, yet far better plan for me. He wants the very best for me, and singing while traveling the world is not the answer. If  I was traveling like I wanted as a child, I might not have married Eddie, or had my precious baby girl. I wouldn't be serving at Mt Hebron or teaching the youth group. (who I adore) Who knows, maybe some of my childhood dreams will come true, however if I don't I won't have any regrets. ( :

This is why I love My life. Picture of me playing guitar praise during youth!!!! OK, I love the kids too.....lol!!!

Love Night Life!!!

It sounds really sad, but I live for 9:00pm. Abrial, drinks her last bottle of milk. I put her to bed, and then......It's Mommy time!!!! (YAY!!!whoohoo....party!!!) Don't get me wrong. I love my little monkey. It's just nice to rest from my daily title, and relax doing nothing. Yep me and my glass of.... Diet Coke. Shame on you! I bet you thought I was going to say wine. hahaha...Better not I'll get me and Eddie kicked out of church. I love a good can of Diet Coke. Especially the kind that is so strong that a person can belch the entire alphabet. Don't act so spiritual, everyone does it one time or another.
I also, like to watch a good show in bed. Of course the quality of the show depends on Eddie. He is such a nerd. We cant just watch a fun sitcom. No...we have to watch the discovery Channel before we go to bed. So instead of dreaming about fluffy bunnies and rainbows, I get to dream about giant crabs and the myth busters. What can I say...he is one of a kind. I guess that is why I love him so much. Anyway, I am going to get off of here. This guy just caught a huge sword fish....hahaha ;)Gotta love my night life!!!!

Good Morning....Not!

OK, it is early. Yes, eight a.m. is early for me. I am not a morning person. I stay at home with my 11 month old, so I have the privilege of sleeping in on Mondays. However, today I don't seem to have that luxury. I'm getting the sink for my basement salon installed. (I am so..... excited!!!) I have been waiting for months for that necessity. One of the Deacons from our church is going to install the sink. Let me tell you, this particular deacon is a hard worker. He is retired, yet he stays busy all the time. Anyway, he is coming sometime this morning, and my husband is grouchy because he has to get up. He also tends to be a night owl. Not to mention, he stayed up late last night arguing at the TV. It's hilarious to watch him when he carries on with the television. He starts screaming at it, while jumping up and down like a little kid. It's funny stuff!
So...He wasn't happy about getting up this morning, and he took it out on me. After I fed the baby I was headed back to bed. Instead however, Eddie told me to go downstairs with him and get everything ready for Keith. Like the sweet, submissive pastor's wife I am, I followed him to the basement. That's when the morning took a sour note. We got in an argument over something really stupid, and I am fumigating in the bedroom. Don't let me fool you. There is nothing sweet about me. I am hot tempered, and slammed a couple of doors in the process.
Now you can understand my problem. Do I sulk and continue in my stubborn ways, or do I apologize? I know, I know, I am supposed to apologize. The Bible talks about not letting the sun go down on your wrath. Basically it is saying I don't need to hold a grudge towards my husband, or let my stubborn anger take over my whole day. I am going to take care of business.....How about you. Do you ever have those days when you wake up in chaos? What do you do?
